During their stay, William Foote Whyte offered to give a seminar for his hosts in Ulgor and Fagor (then Ularco) to express his views on their current situation. One of his observations was that their capacity for internal social research in service of cooperative goals did not match their sophistication and success in technical and economic research and development.
