Like TE version Mk (but unlike Hm 4628 and TT), TE version CT lacks the title at the beginning of the text. The contents of TE version of CT are in summary as follows: Prose introduction Section 1 (Friday mosques) Section 2 (masjids) Section 3 (madrasas) Section 4 (Qur}an schools) Section 5 (tombs) Section 6 (hospices) Section 7 (hospitals) Section 8 (aqueducts) Section 9 (bridges) Section 10 (caravansarays) Section 11 (palaces) 76 buildings 49 “ 52 “ 7 “ 17 “ 17 “ 3 “ 6 “ 8 “ 18 “ 29 “ 82a:1–83a:18 83a:18–84b:20 84b:21–85b:17 85b:17–86b:13 86b:13–86b:19 86b:19–87a:10 87a:10–87b:4 87b:4–7 87b:8–12 87b:12–19 87b:20–88a:15 88a:15–88b:15 19 Section 12 (warehouses) Section 13 (bathhouses) 5 31 “ “ 88b:16–19 88b:19–89a:18 A version of TB follows immediately after TE and constitutes the seventh and last part of the anthology (89a–105b).
As noted above, it includes the verse introduction, prose introduction, index, and inventories arranged in twelve sections (Qur}an schools and tombs being listed together in section 4), one or more of which fell away in all later group II, III, IV, and V versions of the text. In addition, S lacks corruptions that crept into those later versions of the text, EH, Y, and E, most closely related to it. For example, in all later versions of the text in which the verse introduction is reproduced, the word bu is substituted for ben in the second hemistich of couplet 10, a change that renders the line syntactically meaningless.
Again, differences between Mk, Hm 4628, CT, and TT appear almost always to be in the form of accidental variants rather than substantives. Like Hm 4628, Mk omits the title to the section dealing with the construction of the well and waterwheel in the ~skender Çelebi Garden (collations, 1644–1761) found in CT and TT. Although there is no firm indication as to when Mk was copied, a late-eighteenth- or early-nineteenth-century date does not seem unreasonable. 13. Printed Edition of TE in Fenn-i Mi{m¸rº-}i {Osm¸nº (F) This printed version of TE forms section 14 of the Ottoman part of the large folio volume (520 x 380 mm) entitled Uª¢l-i Mi{m¸rº-}i {Osm¸nº: L’architecture ottomane, published in Constantinople in 1873 by the printing house Sebah for presentation at the Vienna Universal Exposition of 1873.
